Tom Rust, founder and director of Face to Face Radio Ministries, was recently inducted into the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Hall of Fame. Tom has interviewed more than 450 athletes over a 21 year span allowing them to talk about their Christian faith. The program is heard weekly on about a dozen radio stations, and is continuously available on the web. Besides his work with Face to Face, Tom has been the play by play announcer for high school football and basketball in Columbus since 1990. His work has been heard on WRZQ, WYGB, and WXCH radio, and he continues in that role today. He has covered nearly 1000 high school games including five state championship games.
On his acceptance, Tom said, “I am truly humbled and blessed to be chosen for such an honor. Though others in the HOF have broadcast or covered Super Bowls or championship games at a high level, my work has been almost strictly at the high school level. That makes it even more rewarding to be honored by my peers. I know that none of this would have happened without God’s direction.”
Formal induction for Rust was on April 19 at the Wyndham West Hotel in Indianapolis. To view the video of the presentation, click here.
